another option is amino caplets + some non-flour sweets. not much, just 4-10g of aminos and 20-30g of carbohydrates for start. easy to eat/swallow, easy to carry, less water required. then hourly same dose.
this choise was fine for me at 24h airsfot/milsim games, where a lot of action and not much time for sleep, you have to quickly wake up, get fed, and go for action. or have a very limited break for food and have to carry all food in pockets.
